All the so-called "snow on leaves" varieties are just shifts of the colours use for the leaves on different values, or shifts of the background colours. All values have the background cut out to the shape of the colours used for the leaves. If the leaves colour on any value was omitted entirely, then there would be a white area in the shape of the intended leaves. On some values, even a minor shift can expose this white area.
